My Thoughts About Our First Donation

As Lexi’s Light Co brings it first donor to our page, I hope you take a minute to read what this foundation is about, how the foundation came to be and the brave young man and his mother behind it all: The T.J. Rasnick Foundation.

The candle:  A Souls Light

Bringing about this candle takes me back to the days at Brenner’s Children Hospital and seeing brave children of all ages suffering from diverse types of cancers. To be quite honest, those children and teens were among the strongest and brightest lights around the entire facility. Anyone that has been to Wake Forest Baptist Health can tell you; the place is reasonably large. Most days merely a trip down to the cafeteria found so many angry, tired, hopeless people filling the halls. Coming back to the floor, the children’s cancer unit and simply seeing their faces, their smiling faces, made me feel different than I have ever felt before. These kids cast an energy not of anger, or fatigue, aggravation, or hopelessness but an energy of light, a beam of hope and their laughter brought the feeling of pure joy through the halls on the 9th floor.  Not everyone gets to witness children fighting for their very lives yet beautifully and selflessly being so grateful to exist, to still just exist.

Thank you for supporting not only Lexi’s Light Co but also helping to donate to The T.J. Rasnick Foundation. Jill has helped countless of children in our community and surrounding communities bringing her own beckon of light. She was the first to help Lexi when she Lex was diagnosed. I cannot say enough about the work she does to bring a smile upon the faces of children and their families who are facing the tragedy of cancer. 100 percent of profit, less the supplies use to make the candles will go toward this amazing foundation this year.
